Some people crave power. They want to be in charge, and they love to have the authority over others. But a true leader is a servant – he thinks of other people, not himself.

Did you know that there is a hierarchy in the spirit world, of angels that mirrors the authority structure in human government? In Ephesians 6:11, 12 we are told to “Put on the whole armor of God” in order to “stand against the wiles of the devil,” for the purpose of wrestling – not with flesh and blood people, but “against principalities,” and “against powers.” Now “principalities” are Satan’s executives, and they seek to primarily influence national leaders. “Powers,” on the other hand, are managers. They do the bidding of the executive principalities.

The word, “powers” is a word that has the idea of being “out in public.” These are the hands-on managers with the authority to make things happen. They have delegated power given to them by the executives, and they oversee the affairs of Satan on a local level.

Well, this is how the organized system of Satan works. It’s the difference between petty thievery and organized crime. Satan has a highly organized system. He’s the Godfather, and the principalities and powers are his henchmen. “Powers” are the evil angels that seek to manage the affairs of Satan. They are relentless in their desire to influence the minds of leaders, and to gain control over the affairs and destinies of men and women. They actually work through human leaders. But the real problem is not the leaders. It’s the spiritual powers behind the leaders.

So on election day, pray for the leaders of your community and state government. And then vote for truth and righteousness. It is one of the ways you can “wrestle against [the] powers.”

Hey – It’s important to vote. It’s the way you can exercise your power.
