Hey listen – Don’t quit! Hang in there. Be a winner, not a quitter.

Listen, you can either let your problems get the best of you – you can throw up your hands and say,  “I quit.” Or, you can face your problems as a challenge. You can work through them. You can stay with it, instead of running away, and experience the joy of solving the problem and overcoming the difficulty. The Bible calls that – “enduring” and that is exactly what Jesus did.

Hebrews 12:2 says, “Who against the joy set before Him, endured the cross.” He endured – He was a winner, not a quitter.

“Endured” – that’s our word for today. It’s a word that means “to stay under; to remain; to stand one’s ground; to persevere; to endure.”

Jesus endured the cross. He stayed with it. He remained under the pressure and challenge of it all.

Matthew tells us in his gospel that as Jesus hung on the cross, people passing by mocked Him and said, “If you be the Son of God, come down from the cross.” You see He was the Son of God and He could have come down from the cross. But – He didn’t. He endured. He stayed under and didn’t try to squirm out, and in the process He won the victory over sin and death and that’s why He had joy.

So, keep your eyes on Jesus and let Him teach you how to have joy by enduring.

Hey – are you a winner or a quitter?
