When we say that someone is a well-rounded person, we usually mean that they have developed in all of the significant areas of life. There’s a completeness about them and we admire that.
So, are you a well-rounded person, or are there areas in your life in which you are lacking development? Sure, there’s a lot about you that’s good; but there are some things about you that are not so good. Well, you need to know that those are the things God wants to work on with you.
James 1:2-4 says, “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
God not only wants you to be perfect (or mature); He also wants you to be complete—developed in every area of your life. He wants you to be spiritually well-rounded.
This word “complete” in the Greek text is a word which means “whole, or complete; or sound in every part” – complete with regard to every aspect.
You see, “complete” means everything about you—your spirit, your soul, your body. God is not just interested in your spiritual side; He’s concerned about every area of your life — your social skills, your mental development, your physical well-being. So count it all joy when you encounter various trials, because God is using them to make you “complete, lacking in nothing.”
Do you realize there’s not a thing about you that God is not interested in?
